LNG-terminal
The project “LNG Terminal” implies alternative natural gas supply to Ukraine through construction and ongoing management of a major LNG terminal on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine designed to receive and re-gasify 10 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas from sources around the world and to supply gas to Ukrainian consumers.
This project will contribute to Ukraine’s dependence on the monopoly supplier of pipeline gas thus solving one of the key national security issues.
Investment parameters
- The total level of investment is currently estimated to be USD 1 billion.
- Terminal location: near the port ‘Yuzhnyi’ in the Odessa region.
- Payback period estimated at 6 to 8 years.
- Project timing: phase one is expected to be completed by 2015, phase two is expected to be completed in 2016.
- Investment mechanism: direct involvement of investor(s) with the State’s share from 25% plus one share.
